Hello!
I'm Kaitlyn Hokana Nelson, the author of Minds of All Kinds.

About Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn is an advocate for neurodiversity, a late-diagnosed ADHDer, a marketing creative, and a debut children’s book author.
Through both personal and professional life, she has learned how beautifully different brains can be, and how powerful it is when kids (and grown-ups) feel seen, understood, and supported.

That’s what inspired her to write Minds of All Kinds. She believes stories have the power to spark empathy, build understanding, and remind us that every brain is worth celebrating.

She's actively involved with See Me Neurodiverse, a nonprofit that supports neurodiverse individuals and families in Minnesota. You should check them out!
Kaitlyn enjoys traveling, reading, and building LEGO creations. She lives in Minnesota with her husband, two kids, and two Cavapoo dogs.

Hello!
I'm Stephanie Hider, the illustrator of Minds of All Kinds.

About Stephanie
Stephanie is an illustrator who loves to work on picture books that focus on empowerment.

She started drawing at five years old. Even at that young age, she recalls thinking about lines and how they moved to create shapes that were complex characters. She practiced with many different characters, animals, and people, and experimented with acrylic charcoal, stippling, and her favorite, pencil.

Her experience in many visual areas throughout her career gives her the perfect mix of illustration and art, composition and storytelling, AND she knows the ins and outs of graphic design and its mechanics.
She enjoys doing kid-based illustrations but also loves the variety of magical and mystical imagery.

In her free time, she enjoys walks with her Maltipoo, reading, nature, and bee watching. She lives in Oklahoma with her daughter and puppy.
